Sparks do not necessarily have to fly on the first date, as many things can affect your perception on how the date went. First date jitters could be one such reason, as you and your date may be consciously trying to create good impressions on each other. It also takes time to discover other similar interests and lifestyles between the two of you, which may or may not surface during the first date. Don’t give up on the first date and try going out on the second or even a third. Even if the sparks do not fly, you would have eliminated the “what ifs” and gained a friend instead.
Love at first sight could happen to a lucky few, but it definitely takes a lot more time and effort to sustain and nurture this first spark into a long lasting flame. Keep an open mind, enjoy a few more dates and let the sparks fly!
